AGGRESIVENESS
Please bear with me as I explain some things, they may not make sense at first, but I think (and hope) they will at the end. :-)
Lately Bruce's mom and I have been talking about his past relationships, especially his first wife. I don't exactly remember why or how it started, but she mentioned the other day that part of her objections to the marriage was she felt Jane was too aggressive in pursuing Bruce.
I replied back to her that one day I would LOVE to know what it is in Bruce that brings out the aggressiveness in some women. There have been two women in our ten year marriage that made no secret of their feelings for Bruce. I told my mil that I was amazed at their actions, they tried running me over like I was an object in their path (which in reality I guess I was).
I left it at that for his Mom, but once again it got me to shaking my head at what had happened. Both of those women had claimed Bruce as theirs and let me know that I was intruding on their territory. Details aren't important I guess, but I'm still shaking my head (and laughing now) at the nasty looks, e-mails, etc I received for claiming what is rightfully MINE!
OK, background over. Now for my spiritual parallel. It's kind of easy to see, Bruce as a Christian, the women as satan and myself as Christ.
See those women had staked a false claim on Bruce, they made him feel guilty for spending time with me and the children and tried to convince him that his loyalties actually belonged to them. Satan does the same thing with us Christians. Satan stakes his false claim and tries to convince us that he has rights to us. That we are his because of the mistakes of our past.
But nothing (AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!) could be farther from the Truth! Once we accepted Christ we became God's child, He adopted us (Eph 1:5). Satan no longer has any claim to us and nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39)
As Christians we belong to God, we are His children, joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:17).
It is time to send a spiritual eviction notice to satan, he has NO RIGHTS TO ME OR MY FAMILY! GET OUT NOW!!! IN JESUS NAME!!!!
Those women finally left Bruce alone when he realized WHO he belonged to (ME!!! his wife). I served those "ladies" (and I still use the term loosely) an eviction notice, as his wife I can do that.
So we must realize Who's we are (Christ's!!!!) and claim our inheritance in Him!
