This is a combination of my thoughts, and things that God has shown me about mature Christians!
I was thinking earlier this week about a Christian lady I had met this year, Anna. And strangely the thought that came to mind was "She's not half the Christian that she pretends to be". I'm sure you know the type. They seem to know all the right things to say, and sound very mature, but upon closer inspection, they don't live what they say. You (I) soon lose respect for them. They are the cupcakes at a birthday party that have a lot of frosting, with sprinkles and the pretty decorations, but when you bite into them, unfortunately the cupcake is only half-baked and batter comes out.
Then I was thinking of another Christian lady, Cindy. I wasn't sure what to make of her, she didn't seem very mature at first. But once I got to know her, I was really impressed at her maturity in Christ. And I would love to be just "half the Christian that she is" (don't send me nasty e-mails. I know that Christ is the Ultimate example of a Christian. I'm just trying to make a point.) She is the plain cupcake at the party, but when you bite into it! Wow! Cream filling!
So, ask God today, what kind of cupcake am I? |
