Lately, I have bemoaned to many of you about the car that Bruce has recently bought. While I am not totally thrilled with the purchase, it has made Bruce happy. He loves to spend time working on the car. Finding out what is wrong and replacing it. He is so anxious to get the tags for it and finally take it out on the road. And it proves that God can use anything to get a point across. :-)
What I am about to say is not at all popular in Charismatic/Pentacostal circles. I am often made to feel guilty and like my "confession" is some sort of sin. But God is so much bigger than people's opinions of me!! My confession is that I don't have a burden for lost souls. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anybody to go to hell. And I do pray for lost family members and friends, but I don't have that overwhelming burden that my pastor and others I know have. I used to feel guilty for not having this burden, but God told me that it is not up to pastor or others to place a burden on me. That is His job.
My desire is for wholeness in Christ. I get more of a spiritual high when I watch somebody healed and delivered than when somebody gets saved. I am so thrilled when God gives me a word of knowledge and people come forward and get their healing.
What does this have to do with the car? Simple, God told me that I am not on of His harvesters, I am one of His mechanics. Like when Bruce hooks up a diagnostic machine to a car to find the problem, I can hook up to the Master Diagnostic Machine through prayer. He can and will give me a word of knowledge to bring what is needed to "fix" the person I am praying for.
It is great to watch people get up out of wheelchairs and for people to hear again. I especially love it when God tells me specifically what people have been crying out to Him. How awesome!!
And you know what? Just as mechanics are looked down upon in the natural, so are God's mechanics looked down upon in many churches. But that's OK. You can put on your garment of praise (IS 61:3) and your robe of righteousness (IS 61:10), I am giong to put on my mechanic's overalls and go to work!!
