Bruce and I have a really small bedroom. There is a path around the bed where you (we) can get to the closet and our dressers and that is about it. When one of us is on the path, the other can't get through.
Yesterday morning Elijah got on "the path" before Bruce got into the room. Elijah was trapped between our bed and the dressers. No where to go or turn. Bruce held out his arms to pick him up and onto the way out. Elijah resisted and turned everyway possible, trying once to climb over the bed. Bruce was standing there the whole time with his arms outstretched waiting patiently to help Elijah out of his mess. Finally seeing his only way out was to go to Daddy, Elijah held out his arms and let Daddy lift him up and out.
So I'm sure many of you see where this is going, how many times in our lives do we feel trapped by a situation or situations? There is only One way out, but we try every way possible while God is waiting patiently with His arms outstretched waiting for us to say "help".
Each of us are probably trapped by different situations, addictions (food, smoking, etc), financial problems, children/relationships, emotions, the list could be endless. And we are looking for a way out, looking everywhere but to God. We can go to doctors, and self-help clinics or secular counselors.
But the good news is that no matter where we turn God is still standing there waiting patiently to help us when we finally ask.
